    Training Director
    Amigos de las Americas - Minneapolis St. Paul Chapter - Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN

    Objective:
    The Chapter Training Director develops and manages a training program which provides volunteers excellent preparation for the current Latin American programs, leadership development and a foundation of how to apply their community development tools abroad as well as at home.

    Responsibilities:
    Plans, manages and evaluates the chapter training program and training team. Develops a training program that incorporates the AMIGOS Core Curriculum and local resources in order to offer a training program that is engaging and effective. (See Training Director Evaluation Points for specific details.)

    Time Commitment:
    Approximately 25 hours per month. Year around responsibilities that change depending on the time of year.

    Summer: Evaluate training program and update local training to reflect changes being made to program structure in Latin America. Recruits veteran training team.
    Fall: Attends Fall Training Director Workshop, designs training calendar that incorporate Core Curriculum under the calendar time allotted by the Chapter Board. Trains veteran training team. Participate in volunteer recruiting and selection process.
    Winter: Begin training program and provide any support needed in fundraising efforts.
    Spring: Continue management of training program and directly supervising each of the training sessions. Evaluate volunteers’ on training performance and notify chapter board and IO of any issues.

    Qualifications:
    Knowledge of AMIGOS; leadership skills; positive and fun energy; strong organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively; ability to work well with others and delegate responsibilities; and ability to serve as a guide and mentor to young leaders.

    Measures of Success:
    Training Directors will be evaluated on training program development, volunteer management, training team management, professionalism, documentation, risk prevention & management, training evaluation, communication & collaboration, resource management, and service learning. The evaluation process will be conducted at three levels: self-evaluation, chapter leadership and IO Training Department. Detailed expectations for each of these areas are included in the official Chapter Training Director evaluation.

    Benefits:
    Gain experience training, event planning experience while in youth leadership development; opportunity to network on different levels with various AMIGOS stakeholders; improve group management skills; and act as a role model to new Volunteers.

    Concordia Language Villages is accepting applications for a part-time Spanish language and culture enrichment teacher for 2015/16. The after school elementary enrichment program is located in Eagan, MN, October through May. Applicants can apply to teach one age group or two. The kindergarten-1st grade group meets Mondays and Wednesdays, and the 2nd-4th grade group meets Tuesdays and Thursdays. (Average 6-12 hours per week with planning time, class time, etc.) Salary starts at $16/hr. Class runs 3:00-4:00pm. Looking for creative individuals with a passion for Spanish and kids! Interested? Hiring lead and assistant teachers who are energetic and can engage children in a program that utilizes dance, music, games, drama and crafts.     Wayzata High School, in Plymouth, Minnesota, is looking for a Student Teacher in German during first semester 2015-2016.  German classes taught first semester include German 1, 2 and 3.

    There will be a chance for this student teacher to join our team and get a postition teaching parttime during second semester.  German classes taught second semester include German 1, 2, 3, 4 and AP German.  

    We use Integrated Performance Assessments and Langenscheidt geni@l Klick materials in our block schedule for grades 9-12. Our students have opportunities to participate in German Club, Concordia Language Village Weekends, AATG National German Exam, and host and/or travel with our German Exchange Program, celebrating it's 40th year in 2016.
