Minnesota districts, schools and charter schools may award Minnesota gold or platinum bilingual and multilingual seals and world language proficiency certificates to students who demonstrate the required levels of language proficiency for languages other than English including American Sign Language (ASL) and American Indian (indigenous) languages. 1. Focus on ACTFL descriptors of required proficiency levels and available valid assessments
2. Explore models for assessing languages for which no proficiency assessments exist and
3. Discuss the process of obtaining seals and credit from Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU).
