Fall Conference 2018: October 26-27

Reinvention: Pathways to Proficiency

Get to Know our Keynote: Billy McLaughlin

Billy McLaughlin is recognized internationally as a world-class guitarist, composer and inspirational performer who has appeared on Billboard’s TopTen Chart. Previously signed to Virgin Records’ Narada label, McLaughlin has 14 CD releases, 3 National Campus Entertainer of the Year Awards, 5 Minnesota Music Awards and his decades of national concert touring earned him the Hall of Fame Achievement Award.

But in 1999 McLaughlin vanished from sight as his career crumbled due to a little-known neuro-muscular disorder called Focal Dystonia. After suffering several years without a cure, he embarked on an unlikely attempt to regain his career by re-learning his instrument left-handed. His remarkable comeback is captured in the documentary film Changing Keys (airing on PBS 2010) and a concert film called Coming Back Alive featuring McLaughlin with string orchestra and a reunion of his longtime rock band. Be prepared to be inspired during Billy's keynote at the MCTLC 2018 MCTLC Fall Conference.

Tips for Registration and Payment

PayPal Caveats and Workarounds

We use Paypal to process online payments. A PayPal account is not necessary, however currently it requires that the registrant also be the cardholder since it automatically populates that person's name into its system.

For registrants whose organization will make payment, there are three options:

1. Request that a check be mailed to:

 MCTLC
 PO Box 11926
 St. Paul, MN 55111

The registrants' name must be included so that we know for whom to apply payment.

2. MCTLC Treasurer can forward an invoice to the person who will be paying but that person's contact information must be in our system. Go here to add your name to our mailing list. That person may then use PayPal to process a credit card.

3. Make payment and request reimbursement.

Register as a Group

Register your colleagues as a group using the "register a guest" option.

The person who registers the group should be the person making payment. In other words, the person whose name is on the credit card should be the primary registrant since PayPal will require that person to be the cardholder. If the cardholder is not in the group use one of the methods outlined above.

Register on Paper

Click here to open and print a paper registration form. Once received, we will confirm your registration via email.

Fall Conference Makes You a Member

Your paid registration to MCTLC Fall Conference automatically begins or renews your one-year membership, including delivery of Language Magazine® to the address on file. To that end, please ensure that you update your profile with your year-round address.

Who do I contact?

Contact MCTLC Webmaster to edit your registration or add a workshop and with technical questions.

Treasurer Mary-Fred Bausman-Watkins can help with payment questions. See above for PayPal tips.
