ACTFL workshop: Unwrapping Proficiency
Brought to you in collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Education and MCTLC and its 2018 Fall Conference
Presenter: Paul Sandrock, Director of Education at the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL)
This full day workshop will link Proficiency and Performance and how performance assessments can be used to measure growth in the three modes of communication and the World Readiness Standards. Identifying what makes a learner Novice, Intermediate, or Advanced will be addressed. Ideas for employing best practices using the best mix of modes for each level to help move students along the proficiency continuum will be shared using the NCSSFL & ACTFL Can-Do statements. Participants will practice identifying key characteristics using ACTFL samples and distinguish strategies to support learners aiming to earn Minnesota's bilingual seals.
Registration for this full day workshop includes a light breakfast and a boxed lunch.
Registration for this event does NOT include registration for the MCTLC 2018 Fall Conference. If you would like to register for the MCTLC 2018 Fall Conference (including the option to attend the conference AND this full-day ACTFL workshop), please click here.
