This year MDE and St. Cloud State University received a $30,000 grant from the Longview Foundation.  The newly formed Global Literacy Advisory Council has been working on a statewide strategic plan, teacher preparation standards, a teacher resource collection, building a website, forming a business/community/education network and planning for this statewide event.  The registration (including lunch) is only $25 with discounts for groups from the same institution. World Languages can have a strong voice in forming these statewide policies and initiatives.  Summit attendance is open to all teachers, school administrators (K12 and Higher Ed), pre-service teachers, teacher preparation program directors, community leaders, business leaders, essentially anyone interested in moving Minnesota forward in our globalized age.
