Responsibilities: Teach general Spanish to three 4^th grade classes and three 5^th grade classes. The Teacher will implement a TPRS curriculum and activities to meet the academic standards, use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices, guide students to higher character and develop their full potential as young leaders, participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions, be accountable for students achievement of academic standards, communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues, and effectively implement Responsive Classroom techniques. Candidates for this position should have strong leadership, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills; and the ability to identify learning challenges, analyze, process, and make judgements with the sensitivity that is necessary to lead and coordinate programs for students.

Job Description:

The Blake School seeks a creative and dynamic full-time Upper School Spanish teacher for a one-semester sabbatical coverage from January 2022 through June 2022 . This is a temporary position.

Strong candidates will demonstrate native or near-native fluency with outstanding teaching ability and extensive experience with students in advanced-level Spanish. This position entails teaching three sections of high school Spanish 5. Modern & classical languages teachers design curriculum, assessments and instruction driven by ACTFL standards and language proficiency targets that emphasize students’ development of language skills and confidence in the language. Candidates should have a strong interest in working in a community committed to pluralism and be inquisitive, self-directed and team-oriented.
